Row, Row, Row Your Boat | Free Sheet Music, Lyrics and Video

Row, Row, Row Your Boat” is an English nursery rhyme. It’s also considered an “action” rhyme, as singers often sit opposite of each other, join hands, and pretend to row a boat. The earliest printing of the song is from 1852. The lyrics were very much like the onces we sing today, but the melody was very different. It was first recorded with our modern tune in 1881.

My fair lady.

Iron bars will bend and break
Bend and break, bend and break
Iron bars will bend and break
My fair lady.

It isn’t clear whether Bingo is the name of the dog or the farmer. Hmmm… One can assume, however, that Bingo referred to the dog’s name if the grammar is correct. In parody the Bingo was used in an The Emperor’s New School episode “Kuzco Fever”. The lyrics were as follows:

“There was an Emperor took a bath and Kuzco was his name-o; K-U-Z-C-O, K-U-Z-C-O, K-U-Z-C-O, and Kuzco was his name-o!”

Lyrics for ‘Bingo’

There was a farmer had a dog,
And Bingo was his name-o.
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
B-I-N-G-O!
And Bingo was his name-o!
